Black has no legal moves. Thats what happens when you get greedy instead of just mating the opponent.

What d4 openings (as white) and e4 defenses (as black) avoid tactics the most and are the most positional?
I am confused by that answer. Can White choose "the queens gambit declined or nimzo Indian defense"?
After 1 d4 d5, White can choose 2 c4, but can't the game then become a Slav or QGA?
The question was "What d4 openings (as white) and e4 defenses (as black) avoid tactics the most and are the most positional?"
Not what black can choose. If you need to hate, do it somewhere else, ...
To me, the point seems to be that White can not choose that the game be a QGD after 1 d4 d5. I am only trying to express confusion, not hatred. I apologize if rychessmaster1 feels that my question is inappropriate.

In some middle game position, I can't find a good move. Is my startegy of playing a "waiting move" acceptable? I simply move my king.
Middlegame Planning:
- Expand your position:
- Gain more space.
- Improve the position of your pieces.
- Decide on what side of the board to play.
- Queenside: a-c files.
- Center: d-e files.
- Kingside: f-h files.
Compare, space, material, and weakness(es)
Play where you have the advantage.
- DO NOT HURRY. Regroup your pieces, and be patient.
If none of this applies, then do this:
If your opponent doesn’t have any of his pieces on your side of the board, then you want to improve the position of your least active piece.

In Scholar's Mate (1. e4 e5 2. Qh5) why is 2. ... d6 never played? Is there a trick or trap I'm missing when black plays 2. ... d6, or is 2. ... Nc6 just "better" for some reason?

… 1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 d6?! What is this move doing to stop the mate threat? Nothing. ...
Does 2...Nc6 do more to stop the mate threat?

I think I get why Nc6 is inherently "better". It develops a piece to a natural position and prepares Nd4 should white continue with his folly trying scholar's mate. Example: 1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 Nc6 3. Bc4 g6 4. Qf3 Nf6 5. Qb3? Nd4! forking queen and c2 pawn. In fact, unless 5. is a queen move to safety or 5. c3, then 5. ... Nd4! will fork the queen on f3 and the c2 pawn anyway.

Is water wet?
How could water not be wet? But then again, I should respond to "Is water wet?" by replying: "Is it wet water?" If your response is "yes" - then I have justification to say that water is indeed wet; if your response is "no" - then I have justification to say that water is not wet

I really like that response. Fight absurdity with more absurdity!

My answer is not wrong though ...
