Yea, I know. Games like this affirm that in my mind at least. Horrible. I've been obsessing over this game since last night when I dropped this easy win. The best player in the world has blundered like that many times, I dont see why you cant just acknowledge it was a bad mistake and move on. You were probably tired or something, sleep deprived etc...

I wish I could use that as an excuse but the truth is I was fully awake and alert and I had a winning position in every game I played last night and I should have won every game I played, especially that one. But unfortunately I did something really dumb and paid the price for it twice. It was a horrid move and I'm not denying that. I'm just saying I feel like my grandmother who doesn't play chess would have seen that coming. And I know that's an exaggeration, but that was so obvious and it should have been the first thing I saw and I will be kicking myself for a long time for not seeing it. Just pathetic way to lose a game.

2000 rapid is not good. I was 2000 rapid like a year ago and I thought I was the coolest guy but we still make lots of elementary blunders and lacking positional knowledge

When this happens, it is of course devastating, but if you are beginner because of a blunder, is he is well?

One bad game does not define you.

The reason why this happens is because inevitably, on relatively rare occasions you will let your guard down when you feel the game is won. You can minimize those moments, but you can never completely remove them from your play.

I don't even like talking about this because every time I speak about some type of a mistake, I somehow end up making it in the near future, maybe even in the next game.

No rating is good when you are at that rating.

One will never be completely satisfied with his own game. But if you look objectively 2000 rating is better than 99.9 % amateurs. You can't compare with masters, but compared to most other players, you are Bobby Fischer.

Really no credit to give. He played the game incredibly poorly and did not deserve the win. It wasn't even a tactic that won him the game. Just a moment of brainless incompetence on my part allowing mate in one. He had no other advantage or tactic throughout the game. So really the credit goes to my own idiocy. Even my accuracy at the end of game was still higher. The evaluation had me at +18 before that disgusting mate in one!!!! There is no excuse other than I failed miserably and pathetically to prevent an ugly and embarrassing checkmate. That's on me alone.

Many people at our level play like dumbasses that should be 900 elo,

it disappears at 1800 elo but most of them play hope chess and hope that you make mistakes as if you are also retardéd like they are

If you're asking why the bishop doesn't take the queen, it's because it can't. It's pinned To The King by the rook. Anyway my opponent found the best move regardless because I'm a moron and blundered a really stupid mate in one.
