So in this opening, I spotted a chance to check the king and force the opponent to make a defensive move, so he could use either the knight, bishop or pawns to block the diagonal and I will just move my queen back to C2 for later use. Am I missing something?

haha you guys are very helpful. I no longer make this mistake. I am still just a casual player however. A few decent games here and there and some blunders here and there.
