Play at least one slow game (20 min. to 60 min. time control) each and evey day. Play 30 games of 20min. each side in a free day, fine. Play 3 fine. Play 1 game of 60 min each side in a day, fine. As long as it is every day. Try your best to win each game. That is how I did atleast. I had no tactics books nor strategy books more than 20 years ago. Just a cheap chess board and a recopy of chess video games; and some bunch of chess enthusiast neighbors, friends, and class mates. And of course my father. Money games also helped a lot.

-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces” and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.” Both books are available on Amazon.com. Both books are endorsed by chess masters!
I hope that this helps.
Hi All,
I have been stuck on 800 level for a while now, and I am wondering how I can keep improving. I do puzzles regularly, and learned two openings and stuck to it for the past hundreds of games. Is there good books to take me to the next level? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated!
