THE BEST Opening For Black Against 1.d4 | Benko Gambit | Chess Opening Explained
Benkö Gambit is one of the better gambits.
It is not however the BEST opening, that is why it sees no play at top level.

@mrdkass Thank you very much, it means the world to me and motivates me to continue making these lessons! Perhaps you have a suggestion on what should be my next lesson?
@tygxc It's nice to see you in my post. Benko is the best gambit for the black pieces according to Kasparov. Objectively it's far, far from being the best opening, in fact you may not even call it good. But it's very practical and my students have great results with it. I hope you understand that the titles on YouTube serve the SEO function and are aimed to target the keywords which helps the video to be found.
Perhaps those opening books that you read didn't teach you that the best opening is not the one that stockfish likes the most. The best opening is the one that scores you personally the most wins. That's the only thing that matters.
Not recommending to play the opening because the elite doesn't play it is ludicrous at this level. Have you ever actually coached anyone at this level?

@little_guinea_pig I am sorry - I am mentioning this line (12.a4 followed by Nb5 etc) at 11:35 in the video. Thank you for the comment. I am happy to hear about your positive results in the Benko

@little_guinea_pig Some players after 12.a4 try the no longer working idea 12..Ng4 (or same idea later) when for white I analysed that Qe2 Nge5 Nd2! is almost always the best reaction where f4 is threatened and the queen from e2 takes away the c4 square from e5 Knight. After f4 Black's knight runs out useful squares and whites develops initiative.
Perhaps I can recommend to look into Perunovic Benko, where black delays taking on a6 for quite some time. I have analysed it from white's point of view and I have to say that a lot of the times the positions are difficult to play for white in my opinion.
Hello Students,
Let me teach you the fundamentals of the best gambit for the black pieces in chess.
