Chernev's books Logical Chess and The Most Instructive Games of Chess Ever Played are good ones that give you a lot of examples of good chess play across a wide range of openings.

For more on Logical Chess see https://www.chess.com/forum/view/game-analysis/logical-chess-move-by-move-1

The Yasser Seirawan series of books is also pretty good. Since he is a GM technically it is GM strategies, but it is presented in a way that is very light and digestible.

-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces”   and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.”  Both books are available on Amazon.com.  Both books are endorsed by chess masters!  These books are not for complete beginners, yet, you will learn winning strategies.
