I agree 100%.

You can learn 20 moves of opening theory and strategically suffocate your opponent to death like Karpov, but if you keep hanging your queen every game, you'll never get past 1000 rating.

Simple tactics are what decide the game for beginners. Whoever hangs less pieces wins.

He effectively says the same thing that I just said: your rating will never improve until you learn to stop hanging pieces.
