🧠💥 Two Knights, Ten Seconds, One Brilliant 9-Year-Old

Just moments ago, one of my students — 9-year-old Vincent from the USA — played an unbelievable game on Lichess that left me speechless.

Facing a strong 2240-rated opponent from Russia, Vincent navigated a complex endgame with two knights versus a knight, and with only 10 seconds on the clock, managed to checkmate his opponent. Yes — a checkmate with two knights and a king, a rare and difficult feat that even many titled players never execute in real games.

This victory took Vincent to 2103 rapid rating, making him the third student of mine this year to break the 2100+ barrier on Lichess. What makes this even more special is how he did it — with calm, clarity, and clinical precision under intense time pressure.

Moments like these remind me why I love coaching. The joy of seeing young minds grow, rise to challenges, and surprise even the most experienced players with their creativity and determination is something truly special.

Proud coach moment — and hats off to Vincent for an outstanding game!

If you'd like to see the game or hear more about how I train kids to reach these levels, feel free to reach out or drop a comment. Always happy to connect with fellow chess lovers, parents, or educators.

Wow! That is really insane and an awesome thing for a 9-year-old chess player to do.
