weird AI recommandation

hey all,

I'm new to chess and I'm training against AI with recommandation to see if my moves are good but AI just give me a weird recommandation :

it's black turn and the best move according to AI is xe4 but the xd3 in the white turn would result in a -2 value with nothing to follow the fight on this case. But when I play it the AI choose to move e3 instead. Is the move recommandation only based on the fact that AI will not take the knight the turn after or is there a real strategy behind this?

Nxe4 Bxe4 d5 uncovers an attack on the Qh3 by the Bc8 and also threatens dxe4 winning the piece back and gaining a pawn. d5 immediately also looks pretty good with a similar idea. Just to clarify in case you are unsure, the evaluation of - means black is considered better, + means white is considered better. So -2 is significantly better for black (approximately 2 pawns) regardless of whether there is some immediate decisive attack. 

I thought that this thread was going to be about Weird Al Yankovic's chess recommendations.
