In Simon’s last video on the London system, he recommends “practicing these moves” but I’m curious what does practice look like in chess? I doubt it’s just moving the pieces by rote over and over. Or is it?
i haven't watched the video. he could mean remembering the exact order with which to play the moves as there are some subtleties, and also why a move is preferred over the other even if ultimately you are aiming for the same position. or he could also mean play games with it.
Ok, so “practice” is basically playing games in which you use the moves. Different than “practice” in music, which means isolated repetition of discrete passages. Thanks!
