Nice 👍
what's elo and what does it stand for

So if my rapid rating is 1000, what would be my elo?
Elo IS rating.
Elo, Glicko and Glicko-2 are three related rating systems.
This site uses Glicko-2. Not Elo.

ELO stands for Extremely Lucky Opponent.
The opposite is EUO. Extremely unlucky opponent. These are the 2 types of opponents.
The first one involves a situation where even when you blunder, you win. The second one exploits your mistakes and blunders to win the game.
(I'm not joking, it really is so)

I am new to chess but one thing I am clear I am focusing on my gameplay not on ELO
You can listen to ELO while playing a game:

Elo is your ratings in chess, usually you can find this in your profile, and it shows you whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or pro.
Ex, beginner (100-700), intermediate (800-1700) or pro, (1800-3000s)
(Just to the chess nerds out their, this is a basic understanding of what elo is, not what it is EXACTLY)

speeled their instead of there, ooops
You speeled it worng?
Better putt it write

"Elo [...] is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players."
"Two players with equal ratings who play against each other are expected to score an equal number of wins."

And, if we have to be serious here, it doesn't stand for anything. It's not an acronym. It's a man's name.
Today, we have Glicko, considered by most to be a huge improvement. Modified, thus presumably better still, it's what chess.com uses... . and Glicko 2, commonly thought to be a downgrade, bright idea or not, used by Lichess, often considered unreliable and unstable even after thousands of games.
