What's the difference between "Elo" and "FIDE" rating?

Are both of them basically the same thing with two different names?

Elo is a system used for calculating ratings, often, but not always, these ratings are chess related.

FIDE rating is a rating calculated using Elo’s system from games played in FIDE-rated tournaments.

Elo is the person who created the Elo system.
