Where can I find explanations about the various ways to play here?

Can anyone provide a link that describes the different ways to play? I'm especially confused about the timing of games. I understand the "speed" type games, but what is 3 /2 and 5/5 and 45/45 for example? I'm playing my first "daily" game now and I'm not sure if that means we wrap it up in 24 hours or if each of us had to make a move at least daily. I'm sure there is a page that explains all of this but I can seem to locate it. Thanks in advance!

Welcome!

In short, the first number represents the starting time on each players clock in minutes, and the second number is the increment added after a player makes a move.  For example, 3|2 means each player begins with 3 minutes on the clock and is awarded an extra 2 seconds after each move.

Daily chess time controls are the amount of time each player has to move before it is passed.  For instance, for a "2 Day" time control, you will make a move, then your opponent has 2 days to make their move.  After they move, it is passed back to you, and you have 2 days to make the next move etc.
