Why are puzzles so difficult?

I am under 1000 elo but the puzzles that are proposed to me are suddenly in the range of 1900 elo. why?

That’s normal, im 1500 Elo and get 2000 puzzles

Yep, normal. While I don't know the actual algorithm, based on my success percentages, I suspect it's randomly choosing puzzles from a bell-curve (Gaussian) distribution centered just under your rating. The result is lots of puzzles close to your rating, but also some above and below. More rarely you get some very high.

There might be an influence of recent puzzles too. More than once it seems like solving a 1700 puzzle means the next one is 2100. This might just be selective memory though 😊

I dont know it gave me like 10 1900 elo puzzle in a row and now it starts again with 3 in a row. Hard to use these puzzle with 5 by day.

I get the impression something has changed with the puzzle engine. It used to be more bell-shaped, I'd get puzzles about my rating with the occasional very high or low. Seems all over the place now.
