Why do the lower rank people do this ?

Bro I honestly have no idea but I did read loads of chess books for hours a day, but it was fun to read. (I’ve always been a reader)
then I try to apply or mimic games in my own games

Can you kindly recommend just one or two of the best books that've helped you improve most?
Thanks!

Logical Chess: Move by Move (Irving Chernev)
Understanding the Chess Openings (Sam Collins)
The Art of Attack in Chess (some russian guy whose name I can't remember)
Attack with Mikhail Tal (still hard to do for me)
I used the second one to test out openings, and then I would buy books on them if I liked it.
