You meant same file. Ranks are horizontal. You already have 8 pawns on the 2nd and 7th ranks when the game begins. You can also get 7 pawns in a file if you include a pawn promoting for checkmate 
Edit. That's 6 pawns; here's the one with 7:

Technically thats 6, as the pawn turns into a queen. Also sorry for my rank mistake idk how to fix it
