I am 780 ELO and I am losing to quite a lot of games to mid 800s I keep getting paired with. However, I can easily beat my 1100 friends. ???

Ratings don't really mean that much at low level play. I find people who look to be much worse players than me on here with much higher ratings, because they have played high ranked players and then the game ends in a few moves. Boosting each other's ratings? I found a guy rated around 1600 who had not apparently played anyone of that calibre. The ratings are a mystery to me. The only one that counts is an official OTB.
