When you lose at chess, what excuses, if any, do you use to either comfort yourself, or trivialize the achievement of your opponent?

"Hope chess"...wait, that's not an excuse.

My cat stepped on the keyboard and disabled my engine.

I can't wait for your 10.000th thread. Something tells me I won't have to wait for very long.

When I lose, it's usually because I had no idea what to do in one or more positions, and ended up making a poor move. I guess that means my favorite excuse is "I just plain suck at chess." Which isn't really comforting to me, but definitely trivializes my opponents victory!Tongue Out

I watch some newbies and i hear i let you sometimes from them. Also i hear i do not want him/her to know all my moves. Or i hear was bored or i was just tired of winning. Then you have it was just a game.

Chess is a flawed game.

Had it been designed correctly, my opponent would have been punished for his inaccurate play!
