Write, in any widely accepted form of literature(including satire), about Stefan Zwieg's comment that people spend years and decades of their lives for the ridiculous purpose of cornering a wooden king on a wooden board.

Its not always wooden, It can be plastic, marble, glass.

I see you're boasting about your glass-like flimsy plastic pieces(did you ever repair that bishop?) again. If you have a problem with the adjective "wooden", go sue Zwieg.

What's "ridiculous" is all relative. Couldn't one point of view say that actors are useless in real life, because they can't do any of the things they're pretending to be able to do? Others say it is a beautiful ability and it's great just to see them in film.

The only reason there is a higher tendency of negativity towards chess is that there are less people who understand the "beauty" of chess, compared to, for example the more popular beauty of acting, or singing.

In chess, good moves don't stick out to non-players. But a nice voice can touch anybody. The only difference in nature is that the beauty of chess is in a very elaborate disguise.
