Are there any fans of the game Superliminal here? And if you are unfamiliar, maybe I can convince you to play it!
Superliminal is a puzzle game primarily based on perspective, and chess is a big part of its theme.
Not only are chess pieces and boards used multiple times throughout the game, even in the icon for the game, there is also a really cool reference to the legendary match from 1996 between Grandmaster Garry Kasparov and the IBM supercomputer Deep Blue wherein Deep Blue won the first game after Kasparov resigned.
Here's how you unlock access to this easter egg: Throughout the game, you can collect hidden red and blue chess pieces. Once you collect all of them, you can interact with a specific computer to bring you to a room in Whitespace (chapter eight) containing a chessboard set up with the aforementioned game, with the final move yet to be played. The red pieces are black and the blue pieces are white (of course they made Deep Blue's pieces blue).
The player is prompted to make a move with the only pieces able to be moved being the blue rook and red pawn. When the player makes the correct move and plays Rxh7+, red resigns and the player is given an achievement called "Kasparov", with the description "Make the last move".
Additionally, around the same area that this room is located, you can find hidden letters that spell out "DEEP BLUE", with "DEEP" being found around the rooftops and "BLUE" being found at ground level.
I just wanted to share this with everyone
