Chess.com maestro, Ouachita (Mr. Johnson), rated 2910, according to his profile page joined Alcoholics Anonymous between the ages of a year and a day and two years. According to his bio-data he was born on 30th January, 1968 and joined up in 1970 (the exact month of sign-up was not specified).

I'm still working really hard to figure out how he signed up. I'm thinking, perhaps, footprints. Do you think those early sessions with alcohol accounts for his genuis, what do you think? If it did, then my Ma definitely put the wrong juice in my milk bottle :)

whaa?

What are you one about? Your writing's messed up, and who cares if somebody went to Alcholics Anonymous anyway. I say good on him.

Egoigwe

And don't tell me, Qwertyuiop135, let me guess, I'm sure 2 year olds also join Alcoholics Anonymous in Brisbane. Yea, sure-it figures SurprisedFoot in mouth.

Egoigwe

No confusions at all Mr Johnson, I just need to know how you signed up? Did you get there by taxi or you walked?

hackattack

who cares?

Egoigwe

Personal attack???? You've got to be kidding me! Talk about idiots posting. It's a simple question; how does a 2 year old sign up and join Alcoholics Anonymous? That's the question I seek an answer for. You either give me one or go get a stiff drink.

You can not believe most profiles here--something that I think chess.com should fix but they have probably economic reasons for letting people post fake birthdays and other personal data. Read them and enjoy them but do not take them seriously.

It makes you wonder about the maturity of people who lie about such information when its not even required. If it were required and someone felt it was an invasion of their privacy/rights or something I could understand the lying more but when its not even required ?! If you dont want people to know then just leave it blank, as very many do,  why tell a bunch of lies ?  Ofcourse , doing so would be consistent with cheating too, wouldnt it ?  Wink

The above is your profile page as sumbitted by your good self Ouachita, and as I saw it. It is only natural for eyes to pop at such an incredible assertion. How on earth does querying such an outlandish assertion become a personal attack on you? All you had to do was admit to your own mistake, in the first instance, and it'd have been over and done with. Now, why would you state your birth date as 1955 and then go on to revise it to 1968? There are all sorts of reasons for which your assertions are worrying. First, would be that by asserting you joined Alcoholics Anonymous at that tender age, you unwittingly indicate the commissioning of a crime. It's criminal in the US as it is in most other countries for alcohol to be administered on children. Secondly, you call to question the integrity and good judgment of Alcoholics Anonymous for condoning the registration of a 2 year old amongst its membership when such an incidence should have been promptly reported to the police as a case of parental abuse. Thirdly and most importantly, you cast the reputation of this site and its members, this distinguished community, to ridicule and ignomy by letting your so-called 'mistake' or outlandish claim flourish and stand. I do not hate you and originally the intent of my post was to search out an explanation as it was clear to see that something was definitely amiss with your claim. I had hoped that some kind of correction or explanation would swim to the fore but you had to rattle the moon in your desperation at justifying what was just not possible.

Well, have you ever thought that maybe Ouachita was joking? :)

You can't joke on this site.  In fact, fun in general is right out.

Egoigwe

Yes, we may joke and have some good, clean fun at what we love to do; play beautiful chess. But whereas such jokes are not indicated, the general tendency would be to take such an assertion seriously. The difference between a joke and a bare-faced lie is the presence or lack of such an indication. Ouachita lied about his birth date and he lied about how old he was when he joined Alcoholics Anonymous, intentionally. He got found out and will have to deal and live with that lie.
