Cigars and Chess

i enjoy cigarettes and chess. maybe im not refined enough to enjoy cigars. cigarettes definately help my game though. they keep me focused. theres actually a cigar shop near me that has a nice oversized chess set ive seen through the window and ive been thinking about going in and buying a cigar and hopefully getting a good chess game out of it. maybe even broadening my cancerous horizons.
just by nature I hate smoke, i dont like cigars and sometimes I play with smokers, but respect that.
Maybe this can be interesting to POLL young gamers about it
why would that be interesting, unless you have some strange desire to know what percentage of chess players smoke. who cares? some people like it, some dont. everything doesnt need to be turned ito a statistic...

agreed. im just making the best of a bad situation. i take whatever good out of potential cancer that i can get.

I love a good cigar with chess. I usually get one with chess about once a week or so.
Tobacco of the premium variety (no offense to cigarette smokers) has always been linked with thinking individuals. By the way not eating correctly (e.g. your vegetables) can cause cancer. Many of our "habits" can cause cancer. While driving is the most dangerous thing we do. Cigars are not typically linked as leading causes of cancer. Might I just add that being a non-chess player in my book is cancer of the mind.

Chess is when I like to smoke one!
I can not smoke in my apartment sooooo,, no cigars for me. Gotta pack of Monecristos just sitting around looking sad,,suppose I'll send em back East as a gift to a friend..
Montecristos! Now that is chess in style. Do yourself a favor and go outside and enjoy them with some good Canadian whiskey!
I googled chess and cigars because I want to set up a game at a local cigar bar and found this. A La Flor Dominicana is my cigar of choice. Wish I could find more games locally.
