I heard that 2d and 3d vision are different so aspects like pattern recognition may not be quite as strong OTB compared with online if you practice online. Dont know how much truth there is in this or how big the difference is. Might be worth a google.

Usually I practice online since I’ve got no one to practice with at home, but I don’t know, I find it’s much easier to play otb than online. Generally when I study games and stuff from books I do it on a physical board (also, on a physical board, there’s no engine analysis, so I can’t see how the position is evaluated after whatever move), but for openings and stuff I usually go online since I have quicker access to databases and stuff

Thanks. What about solving tactical and positional excercises or endgame studies?

On the board for studies, although I do quick tactics online (eg. puzzle rush)

All of it online? It's not bad, but not the MOST effective either.

i mean if you play against people online your opponent could be not  playing seriously or something like that and you wont learn as much altho getting a game is super easy online

opponents can have a bad day whether OTB or online. OTB wont guarantee a good game.
