White: 800
Black: 750
I can confirm that you are both right insofar as White's Elo is higher than Black's Elo.
But the numbers are out.
How many mistakes did White make in this game?
How many mistakes did Black make in this game?
Oh, man. Time to count.
black 1400
white 1650?
No way! White and black played too badly to be above 1300!

How did they play badly?
Initial thoughts (note: I don't know anything about 1 e4 openings) . . .
I don't like how by move 15 so many of white's pieces were sitting on their original squares -- use your pieces. OTOH, in retrospect, it seems that black ignored the pawn storm threat for way too long. He should have moved his c-pawn up so as to get this queen (sitting useless on b7) over to help protect.
White never used his rook on h1 and it is not clear to me what the purpose of the 22.Nf3 move was and why he chose to play it then. I would not consider 22.Nf3 to be a mistake though, as it develops the piece and is protected by the Queen.
Rather than guessing the average Elo, this challenge invites you to make two guesses: one for Black and one for White.
Good luck everyone!
