I started to play chess in the 80's, then stopped for a long time.

But 2 years ago I got a stronger chess virus and since then have been playing daily. My wife doesn't understand it that much and so I have been playing blitz games in a way I can maybe finish a game between her yellings:

"C'mon I need your help NOW"

"Baby can you wait 5 minutes"

"Oh what?????? Are you playing THAT game again???????"

I'm addicted too - not just to the game itself, but to the whole culture, history, science, statistics, literature etc. that go along with it

hello, my name is madhatter5 and I am a chess addict.

apparently I'm not a chess addict (I took the quiz, I think my score was like 33%) but I do suffer from the tetris effect.  In the past 3 months chess has invaded my dreams more than once.  It wasn't very pleasant for me and I'm sure a chess addict would have loved it..

but I know chess addicts and I'm here to show support.
