Nice try, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to come up with a sensible opening that hasn't been played before. Check another database and you will see that. The DB here covers only master level games. Both ChessKing and 365.com have games with your "invented" opening. Still, good for you trying to be creative.
Invent a New SENSIBLEish Chess Opening
No.
Sicilian Defense: McDonnell Attack, 2...d6
but I included 5 moves. By 5. Qf2, is it original?
Absolutely! You should petition FIDE to have your opening recognized as such!
Why yes, I am being sarcastic....Sorry, I need some sleep. You can't base an opening on bad moves made by your opponent. Openings don't work like that.
Actually I owe you an apology, RalRal. I ran it through Stockfish over in the Analysis and it's not that bad at all. My bad. Is it the first time in the history of chess that it's ever been played? Doubtful...
I have changed the Title since baddogno is correct, if something is sensible it already has a nome, how about an opening that starts god but the rest is silly
So here is the thing, come up with an opening that looks sensible at first but then it is crap, also make the Name start with something professional and end with silliness.
Well... if you put the effort into researching your busted system then you could put a name on it even if someone had played it before. I am pretty sure the Najdorf Sicilian, or most named defenses, weren't played originally by the person it was named for.
Im sure your Dinosaur Attack will get a following if you put enough work into it ![]()

Okay
