Is this position legal?

I understand. I’ll see what else I can cook up!

Also, about my position challenge, it’s actually LEGAL. Here’s my 46 move proof game. 45 is possible but I unfortunately lost that game. Enjoy!

How fast could it really go though? (I’m staring. At your soul right now, Arisktotle!) The white pieces have been arranged as to allow for minimal movement. But if you can find a faster way with switching them, go ahead!

Ilegal, as at least two pawns must be missing to have all of the pawns like that

Here’s a proof game of my claim that was found by Arnaud Mortier here, to give credit: https://puzzling.stackexchange.com/questions/80644/backwards-pawns

The kings are not in the exact placep as your puzle, but this is just general proof.

True! The easiest way to see it is by retracting moves. Obviously, none of the 16 pawns is capable of moving backward through the pawn blockade of the opposite colour. Not by simply moving, not by (un)capturing. No more needs to be said or proved.

RewanDemontay

Yep!

This one is still in the category of loose proof games like all similar proofs in this thread. I will occasionally solve them for fun, but I am done with them for the moment. I do several things in several forums and try to avoid doing just one sort of task.

RewanDemontay

That’s fine.

RewanDemontay

Legal or not?

Trexler3241

#1736

Board orientation is shown on analysis board. Illegal.

RewanDemontay

WRONG!

Trexler3241

Can you tell me what white's last move was?

RewanDemontay

That’s for you to figure out! ;D

Trexler3241

Lol!

White's last move was NaN!

gyrados06

#1736 depends on board orientation

#1748-Jusr BARELY legal.

RewanDemontay

Here’s a much faster PG of 47.5 moves.
