I was playing a "correspondence" OTB game with a family member (a move is made whenever the person happens to go into the living room; 5 moves a day on average, out of sight of the other person). They frequently fail to notice when they are in check, and when it happened a third time, I decided to capture the king with my knight, and placed the king off-board with other captured pieces. They didn't notice! Three moves later and still no noticing!! I finally had to point it out. Had a good laugh.
