So what happens to pawns that don't promote? They just sit on the 8th-rank forever as pawns? I used to play losing chess decades (or maybe eons) ago and I certainly don't remember this bogus rule.
Click on Help & Support and contact the staff with your suggestion. Personally I'd rather play Losing Chess than 960, but not with your rules (#2 & #5 that is). The staff will need to see a lot of support for this suggestion to be implemented IMHO.
This is a game played to change our thought process within a different discipline. The idea is, using conventional chess moves, you play to make your opponent take your pieces until there are none left (or you end up with less than them!). The basic deviant rules are:
1. Every time you place a piece where it can be taken by your opponent then they are obliged to take it.
2. If this move results in more 'takes' they are obliged to take these as well (until they can do the same to you).
3. If you have a choice of which piece to take then you can choose the one that brings best advantage to you.
4. The kings can be taken (but the game remain active until a winner is found.)
5. Moving a pawn to to 'promotion' square does not mean you have toi promote it. However, you can also choose the promotion piece that will best serve you to create further havoc to your opponent!
This would be a fun way for blitz or bullet tournaments because it adds a lotta fun to chess strategy!
Try it and let me know your thoughts?
Cheers,
Don
