British marine experts have found what they claim is a world first -- a six-legged octopus, or "hexapus," who they have christened Henry. The unique sea creature, which has two limbs fewer than a normal octopus, is believed to be the result of a birth defect rather than an accident, say his keepers at the Blackpool Sea Life Centre in northwest England.

The piglet, one of a litter of seven, became the center of attention after staff at Byford's Farm near Newent, southwestern England, spotted his unusual markings. This undated handout photo provided by the University of Colorado shows a deformed frog. The growing number of deformed frogs in recent years is caused at least partly by runoff from farming and ranching, new research indicates.

Blinky the cow was born with two heads Tuesday. Although the calf is clearly special, unfortunately, the life span of two-headed cows is not very long, which does not bode well for Blinky, who can't stand or sit on her own. Greg Hamstra, owner of Hamstra's Dairy in Tulare, Calif., where the calf was born, said, "We call her Blinky because all four eyes blink at the same time."

A seven-legged lamb is pictured on its farm at Methven near Christ Church in the South Island of New Zealand, July 31, 2007. Veterinarian Steve Williams said he believed a misprint in embryo formation had resulted in the lamb being born polydactyl, or with many legs, a condition that occurs once in every several million sheep.

Rare Lobster

Animal Oddities

A rare two-toned lobster is seen in July 2006, in Bar Harbor, Maine. The lobster was caught by Alan Robinson in Dyer's Bay and is a typical mottled green on one side; the other side is a shade of orange that looks cooked. Robinson donated the lobster to the Mount Desert Oceanarium. Staff members say the odds of finding a half-and-half lobster are 1 in 50 million to 100 million.

Poof! Hollywood Disappears

It seems that science is finally catching up with Hollywood. When researchers in California revealed over the weekend that they are one step closer to developing an "invisibility cloak," Hollywood sci-fi fans were heartened. In "Memoirs of an Invisible Man," a film based on a book by the same name, Chevy Chase plays a business man who is accidentally rendered invisible by an experiment gone awry.
