Misogynistic Chess Clip Art

In the mid 90's I used Microsoft Office. At the time it included a piece of clipart thatdepicted a smart-looking bespectacled smirking business woman sitting behind a chess board. The implication was clear: smart strong lady.

 

Then I looked at the chess position. As well as I can recall it showed that the woman had just been checkmated. I suppose it could have been a coincidence, but I suspect the artist was sending a subtle message.

 

I wonder if anyone has that old software. I long ago lost track of the graphic.

... except, how do you know whether the woman was playing white or black? In other words, how do you know if she was the one who was checkmated, or the one doing the checkmating?
