You should know that the butterflies are on the endangered species and the boards cannot be made in Brazil or anywhere . . .

@DENVERHIGH Many photos missing. You could edit the post now, sir.
Thanks for your suggestion. i have tried to repost them but I lost one of them
A week ago & a day I had about 50 monarch butterflies on a patch of bamboo & devil's walking not 25ft. from my back door. With the sun shining on them they are simply magnificence to see. At least 25 grew up here. At the start of the season there was only 2 or 3. They had gotten together to fill up & get over to Pelie Island to wing it over the lake on their way to Mexico. I haven't seen as many here in 25 to 30 years. More farmers are leaving milkweed plants some space to grow. I had a patch of 12 milkweed plants with 3 of them as tall as I am. I think they have adapted to the genetically modified corn. It seemed to bother their numbers when 1st. introduced. 1 has came out since the others have left & I still get to see it several times a day.

I went looking for the woman that gave me my board, but it seems she is gone from the Book store and retired. Never knew her name.
One July at our city fair I ran into a exhibit of live butterflies. Three styles of them and they even hatch them there. You could walk through and the butterfly landed on you as you walked. When you left you had to look in a mirror and make sure you didn't have any butterflies on you before departing.
I said to one of the employees, "Say how long do the butterflies live and what do you do with the dead ones?" Thinking of the butterfly wings.
He said, "Since we have several type some live longer that others. Some of the dead ones we give to a woman here at the fair and she make jewelry out of them. The rest that she doesn't want we throw them in the garbage can."
I thought that I could take the large dead ones and make another chess board out of them.

I still have vibrant colors on mine it might be because I put a second glass on it and a frame.
But I don't use it to play on . . . .
