Never start a game of chess with f2-f3, and here's why:

The same applies to Alt-F4. Never do this!

But I always open with 1.f3  Here's why.

That would be a very dumb move when you have a chance to checkmate.

I see, but it's not a 100% guarantee that black will do those moves.

The only time I play f3 in the opening is if I'm playing against the Caro-Kann. The fantasy variation is great. happy.png
