Patzer Chess Move by Move: Introduction

Whilst I was perusing My Home on chess.com, I noticed the section at the bottom labelled "My Recent Activity."

After I put aside my worries about Big Brother (all they have to do is check some of my chats from live games and I am toast; I am a poor loser, and I lose a LOT)…after I put the worries aside, I noticed that it said, “You haven't yet participated. Get involved in the forums, write an article, or post to your blog now!”

Gee, thanks chess.com. Not only are you constantly watching over me, but you are also telling me that I am a crappy citizen in this utopia known as chess.com.

Immediate action was required. But how?

Blog? That is way too trendy for me.

Write an article? That is laughable:  everybody is going to want to read what the guy with an 1100 online rating has to say?

So here we are in the forums, but how can I contribute? It finally dawned on me. Everyone has heard of books like John Nunn’s “Grandmaster Chess: Move by Move,” or even “Understanding Chess:  Move by Move.” Well now I offer you the rare opportunity to delve into the mind of a Patzer Extraordinaire.

Thus, the aptly named “Patzer Chess, Move by Move” series is forthcoming. I hope to enter a monthly article in the “Fun with Chess” forum. Some of the topics that immediately come to mind include the following:  Decision Making – Patzer style, Queen’s Gambit Accepted (A variation I affectionately call the “Turd Variation”), and much more.

Sound off people. Let me have it in the comments. Does this sound like fun? Does this sound completely lame?

To whet your appetite I have included the following short (be mesmerized by the brilliancies that follow):

About the Author:  Robert William Bruno II, has a B.S. in Biochemistry and is currently working on his Medical Doctorate. After learning how to move the chess pieces 20 years ago, he came back to the game for the first time in February 2011 and after two or three games quickly realized that he is a Patzer. Now that he has zero neural plasticity (look it up kids), he will probably never truly have enough of a brain left to reach his lofty aspirations, so he changed his aspirations: Grandpatzer norm, to blunder thrice in a game without losing prior to the third blunder. He hopes that he will reach the lofty feat of Chess Grandpatzer in 2012.

Greetings from a fellow patzer.  I hope to become a Grandpatzer some day and have the coveted GP initials in front of my name.

I love the title of "Grandpatzer." Finally, a title within my grasp.

Loved it you might find the  book Recent Developments in the 9.Kb5 Bongcloud By Lenny Bongcloud to be very entertaining, even intermediate material.

P.S. Ivandh would you like to be an analyst for The Bongcloud Championship I set up.
