I can relate to this, oh yes, and so painfully at times.

Sesame Street's Elmo and Grover know JUST how I feel when I play chess sometimes. They even have a song:
http://www.zappinternet.com/video/TaKlPipNen/Accidents-Happen-Sesame-Street
In chess terms, it goes like this:
"Accidents happen--that's what they say.
Accidents happen when I play. (When I play!)
Accidents happen--am I awake or am I napping?
Accidents happen--I lost today!"
(Sometimes I have accidents when I'm busy trading and I do not want to stop to view the chessboard...)
"Sometimes I'm not really sure if I should start trading pieces or defend some more. I think, "I'll trade, that's great, because I know chess is war--HEY! HOW'D I END UP -4??"
(And sometimes, even when I know how to trade the pieces in Online Chess, I can still have accidents in Live!)
Every once in a while, I know I might
Have an accident when playing Live Chess at night.
Oh, what a fright! An awful sight!
And then I hit "Resign" and the board clears. All right!
(Sometimes I can stop accidents from happening, but only if I go against my natural instincts and play SLOWLY...)
Sometimes that feeling sneaks up on me
When to push a pawn, or get my pieces free,
But on the chessboard, a lot of times I can't see
Exactly what it is telling me.
When it seems to have no reason or rhyme,
That's not a crime...I'll try to...uh...win next time! :P
