Rating bug

My rating is 1400 but I play like 1700. But the problem is, all my opponents are also 1400 but also play like 1700 this way I'll never actually get 1700. I'd like an explanation from the staff!!

Ratings are just a way to match you up with suitable opponents.  If you're getting tough opponents now, then it's working.  If you want a real rating, then go play in some tournaments.  You're right; I'm not staff, but I suspect they'll tell you the same thing (OK they might be a little nicer in the way they tell you).

RATINGS are NOT a measure of knowledge or even playing strength, but of performance.  if you play flawlessly 39moves strait than hang a peice often enough to make you competitive to a 1400...  you ARE a 1400.
