The small nations of Europe have their own chess events , as shown by the Small Nations Cup and The European Small Nation Team Championship ( Dec 2013) . In the latter, the top finishers were Faroe Islands, Andorra and Monaco. The other participants included Luxembourg, Malta, Cyprus, Liechtenstein, San Marino , Guernsey and Jersey.
