knight e3 isnt mate and  pawns dont move backwards =(  ... O.o

it is mate because all the pawns are 1 sqaure from queening they're all on the 2nd rank not the 7th rank that why the hint was upside down cause it isnt as it appears.

it is a funny puzzle I have in one of my books

yeah it is not the type of puzzle you do to improve your play like in Tactical Trainer, it is meant purely to be fun

It is a wild variant... wild 5 on a lot of servers :).
