Well, if Kasparov makes a wrong mobe, here are the consequences:
a)Half of the chess players in the world freeze in shock
b) Karpov says "ha ha" to Kasparov, makes faces at him and runs away
Apart from that, nothing else. His opponent, still frozen loses on time and Kasparov continues to be the best chess player.
I picture my opponents making that face when I make a good move.
Over at CERN they discovered a phenomenon where a wormhole opened up and swallowed the errant piece, for it to be deposited on the proper square.

It is stated in the actor's guild contract that no media portrayal of a chess game shall have the board properly set up.

Move 33... Qxe3. White gets an immediate discovered attack on that Queen, so that Kasparov has to choose between losing his Queen for a Rook or losing a Rook outright.
