This is called castling, where a rook develops and the king gets moved out of the center. A king cannot move through Check.

Funny story, I was playing in a beginner OTB chess thing once, and someone playing on a board next to me literally took their King and moved it to the opposite side of the board (1st rank to 7th rank or so. They said it was Chess 2, and that the King could teleport. They and their opponent seemed to drop the matter after a small laugh. I can’t remember if they continued the game like that, though they might’ve.

One of my OTB opponents once tried to claim a win by the 10-move rule, stating that if all of one side’s pieces are taken and the winning player does not checkmate within 10 moves, the losing side wins instead. I didn’t let that slide.
