I would play just for the lima beans!
!
I like the idea that the king has the same power as the queen (except for putting opposing king in check) until that king is put in check and then it turns back to regular king power.
I would play just for the lima beans!
!
No thanks. I'm sure I can beat you without my king.

Sure, but what about playing without lima beans?
Drum roll, please .... a comedian's comedian: Norm MacDonald.
Now, let's return to our game: New Rule: when your pawn reaches the end of the board, it can Only be converted into a power piece after the player correctly answers a "comedy nerds only" trivia question. ... Oh, yeah ... I could So be a Grandmaster...
1. Movement is strictly limited to the 1st and 8th rank during the first two turns.
2. Movement of the knight is not allowed until the third turn onwards.
If those two moves could go together...well! That'll be a strange game I'm sure :))
It would make for an interesting game if we were not allowed to checkmate with our minor pieces and our King unable to capture any piece at all except for the Queen.
What if we changed all the knights to bishops and all the bishops to knights and we started the game with the ex-knights in positions beside the king and queen and the ex-bishops placed between the ex-knights and the rooks?

Oh yes, he's the guy from Saturday Night Live who blurted out the "F" word live, I remember him...he was gone (fired?) months later.
Make it mandatory for the King to be moved first, or you lose. Talk about a short game, I would hate to be white.

(This is Way off-topic, but Norm was considered to have been fired for making too many jokes about an ex-football player who'd been acquitted of murder and was a golfing buddy of a TV executive... but let's move on.)
But Now, Back to our Game!! OK, so what about my Post #327?! How about Those great ideas for Rule Changes? I thought they were Brilliant... What? No applause?! ;-)
