For what, Awardchess? Making a spam thread wherein I just keep posting?

You are a fool. I like the confidence in your claim, as if you're sure. All I see is trepidation dripping from the sentence.

You really want to go up against me, eh? Haha.

That was alllmost too complimentary. I was going to go for "annoyance", like how a hamster is annoying. "Fool" is veritably Shakespearean, but nevertheless...

OMG!!!! Brilliant, Rael.

I've been in this situation before with AWARDCHESS, and I too heard trepidation in his comments both here and in his other spammy photo forums.

I would never Debate you Rael :)

Abuser! Who offended me, and my friends personally in past a numerous times, without a Banning, yet, accordingly a Policy!!

Greg

Greg, you call "abuser" at a knee-jerk reaction these days. It's tiresome. This is a thread wherein all you're doing is posting "silly" pictures from off the internet. Your ungrammatical, cutsie talk has also become tiresome. You're not the "cheerleader" of chess.com. No one needs you to make this place exciting for us.

"Your" site? I was here long before you, not that it matters.

If anyone else was posting in their own thread they would be addressed. I might even try it just to test my assertion.

Pick your battles, Grigory. I'm the last person you want to actually toussle with.

p.s. If you think that this is abusing, you haven't even seen me start.

Simply absurd and ridiculous.

Rael! Only because you could write and speak English better than AWARDCHESS, doesn't make you better than him or infact ANYBODY.

I dont see any reason what has made you so much personally offended? You have any problems with his posts, stop tracking/replying them. You  claim,"If you think that this is abusing, you haven't even seen me start". Plz let us witness another trait of your personality.

If you have any problem with the poster, you must contact the Chess.Com people immediately instead of whining in front of more than 600,000 members of this site.

I would never say that a paid member has more previleges, but since you were here on chess.com long before AWARDCHESS and many of other members, YOU MIGHT WANNA CONSIDER BECOMING A PAID MEMBER.

The forums do need some quality moderation, to put it mildly. Still, when I want to read some pure silliness and spam I go to chess.com forums. Pity that interesting discussions are almost non-existent because of that.

I wonder if the lack of moderation is deliberate.

victhestick

Hi everyone,

This site had a distinctly different attitude in the forums then when I started visiting in mid 2008.  Most of the postings were from early members with an understanding of chess.com's start up and evolution.

I have seen the change that began with a huge influx of new members as the site gained popularity.  The forum topics changed, many leaning away from the game of chess, some completely void of any intellectual value, and some posting factual inaccuracies that in the real world could have legal repercussions.  I myself have been guilty of all three.

When you all focus on arguements about a post, rather then what you feal should be posted, and posting it, you have failed.  I picture all of you standing around like Roman Statesmen in Togas (my Ceasar fantasy) arguing about what is best for the site, when in time the membership will go full cycle back to chess based interest.  Why waste energy when you should be posting what you feel should be posted?

There is no right and wrong, and yes even I am taxed by the kitten/pet/batman/help me/knight or bishop, posts, but they are new to all the new members.  Not long ago I exitedly posted a picture found on the Internet with a "post your caption" heading only to find out the same picture had been already used in an earlier forum for the same purpose.

As my brother in law's dad used to say,

"Wit is only funny if it comes from the sharp edge of the knife,"

          "try not to hurt yourself."

LoneWolfEburg

"When you all focus on arguements about a post, rather then what you feal should be posted, and posting it, you have failed."

The discussion is about the total lack of moderation here. Awardchess' silly antics serve only to prove a point.

LoneWolfEburg

"Have you ever started one of these elusive, interesting discussions?"

You don't need to be someone who started them in order to state the lack of them.

"I personally find it odd that a forum search of the word Bazna produces 0 results."

What's that? Google search says that it's a Romanian town.

Sorry, can't resist. Nabeeldasorcerer, Rael used to be a paying member, and presumably chose not to renew.

I used to be a paying member on this site, but in the end the childishness of these forums and the general obsession with cheating rather than chess just got the better of me. I play elsewhere, but a family friend of mine plays here and I like to look in on them, also some aspects of the site are decent, but none that need an account. Tactics, openings, strategy, I get elsewhere.

I joined the site originally a little before Rael, and was reasonably active on the forums until I'd had enough. I quite liked Rael's inputs in the forums when he was more active – didn't always agree, but I think he absolutely nailed it when he lamented the way that using the group forums were the only sensible way to get decent discussions.

On the other hand, I've had fun with Awardchess on his forums too, but although Rael has not made his point as patiently as maybe he should, he nonetheless has a point. And for Awardchess to constantly cry 'abuse!' every time someone says anything at all he doesn't like, while he, in fact, spams, is a little rich. Sorry Awardchess, nothing personal, but that's how it seems.

Can't quite believe I've opened an account to say this but there you go.

Whogivesadonald! I am agreed with a major part of your post. Having said that, It still makes no sense to post statements like;

1) I'm the last person you want to actually toussle with.

p.s. If you think that this is abusing, you haven't even seen me start.

2) And now I won't be so tolerant. Now that you've called me "Offender", I'm going to have to live up to it - because I haven't even yet, and anyone who can read our language knows it.

I do not intend to use some harsh comparisons but a line must be drawn. I have gone through a lot of topics started by AWARDCHESS during the last one month or so but I have never seen AWARDCHESS being abusive to anyone...... not even harsh remarks.

Everyone must concentrate on his CHESS more than wasting his/her time threatening others and vividly depicting an absurd image of personal intellect. I hope you would agree.

if you dont want to read dumb forum topics then dont! no one is making u.

ilikeflags

it's a shame that chess.com protects (and in some way, encourages) this type of drivel...

-MICKEY-

So this whole chains of AWARDCHESS spams is to prove a point that there is a lack of Moderation?

Well why the heck are we here arguing amongst ourselves? Why doesn't AWARDCHESS go to them himself if he thinks this is such a grand problem? He seems to go to them for every other minuscule problem.

Wow! Ilikeflags.  I'm surprised and disappointed.  I never would have had you pegged as one of those, "I'll give up my liberty for safety and comfort" types.  I still don't believe it.  You're having me on, right?
