The NN's ^
I am slightly disturbed....
My father always used to say he felt sorry for whomever was being referred to when old war movie characters would shout "fire at Will!"
Who is this NN?
no name,
numb nutz
Acronym of the message:
NN,
NN
Edit: What the heck, I'm addicted to explaining.
(For futher valuable vocabulary expansion one could do worse than visit the word association threads like wayne 79#2... they are far from merely being spam)

Although NN is sometimes believed to stand for "no name", that is a misconception: it is in fact an abbreviation of the Latin nomen nescio which means 'I do not know the name.'
NN in chess stands for nomen nescio and refers to an anonymous or unnamed opponent..and he did win some games against famous grandmasters like philidor

Interesting, I always assumed it stood directly for "No Name". But these English words are derived from Latin anyway, so my assumption was almost correct.
Awwwwww.... I really wanted to read that one....
