Why is Queen more powerful than the King?

The queen is powerful but the we lost the king we will lose so protect the king is more important than save a queen

In all seriousness, the Queen originally was an adviser (called the Wazir as a fairy piece) and not necessarily the consort or even part of the royal family (i.e. versus being the King’s brother, or in the case of modern chess, his wife).
