Yup.
As odd as this sounds, I was beating the snot out of Mikhail Tal, with a Rook and three passed Pawns vs Bishop+Knight (in a simul, guys... just a simul) when he whipped out a chess clock and set it running, five minutes each. I had to vacuum all the pieces off the board and draw by bare Kings, to avoid losing on time.
