A lesson on greed...

Hey guys, this is a game that was played over the course of a day on another application. Because of this, all the notes for the game aren't going to be nearly as in-depth as they would have been, had the game taken 30 minutes.Still, one error I made did not appear well thought out.  My comments are inside the game's diagram.

And black cannot counter 14.  Ne4 with Qh6, followed by 15. ... Rh5, since the a8-h1 diagonal is taken by the white bishop, making any mate threats impossible.

Yeah, I think I got lucky here. Let this be a moral. Don't be greedy!

Move 17 white should have played d4!, thereby winning a piece, either hte rook or the bishop.

He was already up a piece and a pawn, and most assuredly had me. Actually, d4 was the only way to stop mate reasonably, at all. All other moves ended up losing material. My Qg5?? was really poor. I completely looked only at the lines that involved BxR, and so didn't see how he could stop me. But the thing is... it all comes down to greed. He could have attempted to defend against the attack, he'd have won purely by material. By continuing to try to further his lead instead of doing something more defensive, he doomed himself.
