Why just game score? I'm not gonna waste my time going over this when you could have put it in a viewer
A murky club game Amateur vs. Master
Had to write it in manually because of a few missing spaces. I haven't found any kind of programming/computer language, even one as simple as pgn codes, that doesn't have an extremely annoying syntax system
Seems like white just played without a plan! h3? b5! just hands black the init! Ra1 and Nh2 white is just flailing about.
Thanks also, Shepi. 2200ismygoal: I appreciate your feedback, but wouldn't it have been more constructive if you had shown me (or directed me by link) on how to put the game in a viewer, instead of complaining? I am relatively new to chess.com and, until just now when I read your post, did not know that is possible. So your comment "you could have put it in a viewer" is technically correct but assumes something that was not correct.
I was not trying to be impolite or "wasting your time". If all new people are greeted by "Why waste my time?" then they are less likely to return. My full-time job has been chess since 1996, helping people learn, so I am a little sensitive to giving people positive posts.
And you are right: White is not an extremely strong player and admittedly was flailing about. However, our game's first dozen moves or so turned out to be strong resemblance to the game Ponomariov-Caruano a few days later at Dortmund! So in that sense White did not play so badly - Incidentally, Houdini 2 rates 10.h3 the best move in the position
.
Dan Heinsman, I apologize on behalf of 2200ismygoal. He probably does not know you are new here, and are unfamiliar with some chess.com's settings. I, on the other hand, is very happy you have decided to come on chess.com. I am very grateful of you to join this site, I have learned a lot from your previous lessons, and hope you continue teaching in the future!
Welcome to chess.com.
Thanks! Much appreciated. BTW, where can I read about how to put a game in the viewer for this forum?
I'm not sure where you can read about it, but here's how:
1. Click this button to insert a diagram:
2. Chose whether to insert a diagram, game, or puzzle in the new window that will open.
3. Chose whether to type in a pgn, use a fen string for the starting position, or set up the initial position and make the moves manually.
You can just experiment from there.
Thanks! Much appreciated. BTW, where can I read about how to put a game in the viewer for this forum?
or you can see it here, step by step

welcome to chess.com Dan! As a note, because of the free aspect of the site, which has its pros and cons, One of the cons being a higher number of trolls who make just annoying comments.
Nice game Dan. IMO a good example of what happens when 1 player plays scared . I wonder if when you annotate the game if you could post what your thoughts were and where you played the person a bit more (ie ok its complicated but Ill beat this person there)
move 14 for white seems critical.
Modified the comments a bit while not so distracted (Note to self: watching movies with the kid and having a rum and coke are not beneficial for accuracy)
you want to play 14. d4 with black being better developed your choice. has to be good for black .
19 Nxe2 doesnt win a piece oops what i get for doing notes while watching the kid. game is still over. white just squirms and wiggles but is dead
I am shocked how often players 'blink' , backdown and play a safe or "normal" move when faced with a move that is challenging. this leads to passive positions and situations where the path to maintain the balance is narrow. everything becomes a bad choice.
