well black could have played 6.Bg6 and white is dead lost. but at move 9.white missed chance to win with Nxh4 Qxh4 Nxc7+ .move 16.Re1 you say "centralizing my rook" but what you should say is "handing black a win" for 16...Nd5+ is great for black. move better was exf5 Kf8 Qg4

Since 6...Bg6 is impossible, I assume scottk74 meant 6...Bg3 , which is a good move and potential trouble for White.
You really did luck out with Black missing 16...Nd5+ , which would have cost you your Bishop.
