Taking the Initiative

Hi All,

This is a game I recently played in which I thought I did a pretty good job of siezing and maintaining the initiative.  I've spent quite a bit of time looking at the game, and I included many of my thoughts from both during and after the game.  I figured I'd just put it out there for feedback.

I analyzed a ton of other lines as well, but didn't keep notes of all of my analysis.  I guess I really should start doing that!  Anyway, please leave me comments if you find my analysis dodgy.  Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback Paul!  That's exactly the kind of interesting stuff I'm looking for.  You are certainly right that I could have taken with the pawn on move 19.  I *think* I had seen that earlier when I did my analysis earlier and that's why I played a4.  Just goes to show that I really should write my moves down.

As for 10. Bb4 Nxe4...

That's an excellent find, and I certainly hadn't seen it.  The pattern where white plays f3 and black can play Nxe4 is not something I'd think to look for.  I guess now I will!  Thanks for pointing it out.

Also, I kind of wish White had played 15. Nc4.  I thought the response 15. ... Nd5 was quite good, and we probably would have had an interesting position to play.
