I think after 13... Bxe4 14 Rxe4 d5 followed by 15... e4 Black would be alright. A snappy finale btw (I like the description "short little happy game" too!...lol); that was definitely a gaping hole on e6.

I think any time Black gets mated on move 17, it's pretty safe to say that his play could be improved. And in this game, White's play could also be improved
Black chose a very passive defense to the Ruy Lopez, but White's plan of 6.a3 and 7.b4 seems misguidedWhat's the point? Strong central play with 6.d4 would have been much better.
Black would have done much better with 7...Nf6 or even 7...a5, messing up White's Q-side pawns. In fact 8...a5 and 9...a5 also look interesting
12...exd4 13.Nxd4 Qd7 looks OK for Black

This is a short little happy game that I won... but in lieu of my victory, I was just wondering if black could've done something to avoid losing or even gain an advantage. I would appreciate your comments. :)
